IT Contracting market - how is it?

Question

How is the IT Contracting market now?

In June, I was told that the permanent IT market was very hot, and that it would soon spill over in the freelance market.

Did this happen? 

Is the market better now than in June (Adjusted for the season)?

(I think the economy has done a bit less good than expected since June)

That might just be sales-talk for the contracting market being really shit and the agency desperately trying to extend their overdraft in the hope that things pick up.

 

And of course, it is totally skills dependant...

 

More than 1 interview a week = hot. Less than 1 a month = not.
