Insurance for cancellation of plane tickets

Does anyone know if one is covered by a standard car insurance or credit card insurance policy for events like the reimbursement of plane tickets due to cancellation because of illness?
Generally, at the time of buying the plane ticket, one has the possibility to buy this type of insurance but I think that with the numerous insurance policies that most of us already have for our cars, through our credit cards, house, work, there must be hidden somewhere, cover for such kind of reimbursement. Basically, I am trying to avoid paying some more for insurance because I suspect that I'm already covered for it but am not sure.
