Identity card
I have registered at the commune where I live, and have been waiting for the police to come to my apartment for a month now. What am I supposed to do next? The person who helped me at the commune told me the police would come in two weeks and another person told my partner three weeks. I need to get the card quick!
Where are you living? The service differs from commune to commune. There will be one person responsible for these home visits who liaises with the commune, if you could find out who that person is (hopefully not on holiday), you could ask them to come quickly. First time we registered, visit was 2 days later, 2nd time was 4 weeks after contacting maison communale to ask why the Police hadn't come. Our local Police don't ask to see everyone either, happy to trust seeing the passports and one adult.
