Help with understanding energy invoice (with solar panels)

Question

I have moved into a rented place with solar panels and taken over the same energy company (Eneco) as the previous tenants. I am shocked to see that though my actual energy use the past 3 months is 0 KW, due to the solar panel supply, the "prosumententarief" (in NL) is 150 EUR !!! What is this? I dread to think what the costs will be when I actually have to start paying use of supplied electricity! Where can I get advice? Does the owner need to pay something for having solar panels?

YOU know how much electricity you have used. Does your supplier know? Have you had a meter reading done or had to take one yourself and let the supplier know?
If not, they are basing your bill on the consumption of the previous occupant as they have nothing else to go on. It is absolutely standard practice and will regularise itself at the end of a full year when they can make an accurate assessment. Next year they will base the bills on your usage this year; if you then use more you will get an extra bill at the end of that year and, if you use less, you'll get a refund.
You can always contact their help line and ask for a smaller bill if you are satisfied that they are massively overestimating your likely usage.

Try ringing the company if you speak french choose that option if not push for nederlands usually means someone who will be able to converse in english. I very much doubt you would have produced much in the past month given this was so dark, they should be able to explain how it works otherwise does the landlord know?

"prosumententarief" is the sum you have to pay for use of the grid , as solar panels produce electricity only when the sun shines , and most people alo use electrical power at night .
The electicity from your panels goes into the grid to be used , and at night you use non-solar power.
Normal prosumententarief is around 1000 euro's a year .
