Handy man

Question

I know this has been asked a million times, but none of the recommendations on here are very current.

Can some kind soul please personally recommend a handy-man who is skilled at minor bits of carpentry and maintenance work, is insured, and is NOT working in the black ie can provide proper invoices etc? And who doesn't mind doing a bit of "specialist" cleaning once every few months or so ie cleaning 'hard to reach' spots up ladders!? (Very high ceilings!)

I have a million small jobs to complete in the house before Christmas! And thereafter there would be regular but varied jobs to do on a monthly basis. Prepared to pay well for the right person.

I would prefer a recommendation for someone working on their own please rather than one of those companies who advertise here and operate teams of people.

Thank you!

J

Recommendations on here don't go back that long. If there is such a person, they ought to still be in business.

Thanks but people I have used previously have tended to be expats (whose spouses are working in the Institutions ) who have moved on after a couple of years or so. The most recent recommendation I can find on here is from 2012.

As stated previously, I would prefer not to use companies who operate teams of people; I would prefer to work with an individual. Will pay good rates for the right person.

Any current personal recommendations please?

OK, this is no exactly a recommendation, unless one can recommend oneself, but I work as a handyman for a few people in and around Brussels. Jobs range from basic gardening to decoration the house and more tehnical things like basib electricity and plumbing. For example I can installl new pluds, lights, etc but dont work off the mains. Same with plumbing, changng washer, certain amount of installation of fixed utilities (sinks, toilets). I don't touch gas.

I work on my own most of the time, and the only otther person I use if needed is my brother, and only if he would be needed to get a job done quicker/better.

I can provide you with references of people I have worked (and may be even am still doing jobs) for. And my rates are very reasonable. These depend on whether you provide tools for the job or I do. Essentially this means if the job requires tools that I dont have (for example a steam wall paper stripper or ladders longer than I have), then you would pay for these at cost and just pay me an hourly rate.

But if you may be interested, please contact me on alittlerisky@yahoo.com (sorry about the dodgy sounding email, but its my anonymous email, I dont like to put my personal email on the internet). Or give me a call or a text on 0479 281 318
