Government leaders enjoy the atmosphere at Tomorrowland

10:57 30/07/2017

After the federal government last week reached an agreement on the budget for the coming year following several days of talks, Belgium's prime minister Charles Michel invited his ministers to celebrate with a night out, writes De Morgen. "I told all my colleagues that, because we worked so hard, I had the pleasure of inviting them to go to Tomorrowland together," he said.

Several of Michel's cabinet members gladly accepted his invitation to attend the world-renowned electronic music festival, including deputy prime minister Kris Peeters, state secretary Philippe De Backer and ministers Maggie De Block, Johan Van Overtveldt, Alexander De Croo, Sophie Wilmes, Jan Jambon and Didier Reynders.

State secretary Theo Francken, who could not make it, shared a photo on Twitter to wish his colleagues a good time: "Cheers to you from the playa with my Spanish friends from Vilvoorde," he tweeted.
