Good therapist but not too expensive
Does anyone know a good therapist who could help me with despression, but would not charge too much (maybe some public service)? I did some search and contacted several therapists who were recommended on this site, but their rate is too high for me (i.e. 60-80 euro/hr). Perhaps these rates are the standard rate here in BXL, but I have been a jobless and simply cannot afford it. Thanks a lot in advance for your help.
Talk to your mutuelle, and see what they'll pay for.
But talk to your GP first. You can't get refunds for treatment for self-diagnosed depression.
-There are centres called Services de Santé Mentale. They are not-for-profit organizations providing low-cost therapy.
-If you see a psychiatrist, the majority of the fee is paid for by the mutuelle. It comes out to around EUR 15 out of your pocket. You would pay more out-of-pocket to see a pyschologist.
Hi, may I ask you if you are sure you are suffering of depression or if it's something related to a loss you have been experiencing in your life and consequent grief?
Sorry for asking this personal question.
It's because I am a specialist in grief support and certified international grief coach - whatever the cause of the grief is (loss of a loved person, end of a romantic relationship, loss of the job, moving , etc.) -.
If this is your case, please do not hesitate to contact me by email at "griefsupport@hotmail.com".
Warm regards
Hello! Great job for looking for help. I did the same thing a year and a half ago and someone on xpats recommended me the CHS clinic in Brussels. http://www.chsbelgium.org/ They have amazing therapists and you can negociate your price according to your salary. Personally, I pay 30 euros per sessions. Give it a try. I recommend it with all my heart. My therapist changed my life.... Good luck!
Hi
We have just opened up a small practice providing therapy and coaching in English to expats. We normally charge 50/hour but in certain circumstances will charge less (e.g. 30E/ hour). www.therapyBXL.com, therapyBXL@gmail.com
Good luck!
Very best wishes.
Hello,
It is already a good step asking for help. In case you are interested, I offer free art therapy sessions (you just need to bring your own materials, or use the one that I have for very little money). Art therapy can really help you put things into perspective and get a new view on your life. It can really help in building your self-esteem which is directly linked to depression. If you need more information check out: www.chezpinkelephant.com.
Best of luck,
Anamaria
