Get married in a Brussels park this summer

21:18 13/02/2018

The City of Brussels is likely to allow its first outdoor weddings this summer, with three of the capital's green spaces to choose from.

Between May and September, couples can tie the knot in Osseghem Park overlooking the Atomium, the Royal Park in central Brussels or the Bois de la Cambre.

The city council is expected to approve the move later this month, making it legally possible for weddings to be held outside the city hall. The municipality of Uccle already allows ceremonies in Wolvendael Park, since spring 2016.

Alain Courtois, the Brussels city councillor in charge of civil status, said that - if approved - three afternoons in the month would be set aside for outdoor ceremonies, in consultation with park authorities.
