Garanty

Question

I have been living in the same appartment since 1995, now i have to leave because my current landlady needs to make some renovations. By then in 95 i paid my garanty to the daughter who was acting as landlady in cash and i have the proof. Then after sometime i got a mail from the then landlady saying TREVI immo was going to manage her building, all payments should be done their and apart from that nothing changed.
Last year the building was sold, now that i am moving out, i asked the new landlady about my garanty, and all she told me no garanty was transfered to her and as we didnt have any contract she couldnt help apart from giving me the number of the former landlady.
I dialled the number all i learnt it is her other daughter who is alive, the 1 we paid too died 5yrs ago. The mother who was the landlady died i year ago. So the 1 person who is alive doesnt know anything about it? So in this case what am i supposed to do? It is not much but i thought it was my money? 17,000BF. What can 1 do in this case, advise plse?

If your contract says that a guarentee was paid, and you have proof you paid it, then the contract is not with the new landlord, and it's their responsibility to pay you back.
.
"she told me no garanty was transfered to her"
That's not your problem.
.
"as we didnt have any contract"
That is your problem.
.
"What can 1 do in this case"
In practice, nothing. You would have to recover the €425 from whoever inherited from the original landlady. The stress, legal complexity and cost of doing that far outweighs the value of the money, if you ever do recover it.
