12:26 04/10/2012

There are four Belgian universities in the 2012-2013 edition of the Times Higher Education World University Ranking. They are the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL, 58th place), Ghent University (UGent, 93rd), the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL, 164th) and Antwerp University (UA, pictured, 192nd). The first three already featured in the 2011 table and are climbing up the rankings, while UA is a new entry. At European level, KUL is 13th, UGent 31st, UCL 69th and UA 81st. The indicators taken into consideration by the Times include research, private funding, presence on the international scene and quotes in academic journals.
