Flemish-Brussels Media launches Bruzz

14:38 19/04/2016

The non-profit media group Vlaams-Brusselse Media (Flemish-Brussels Media), specialised in providing Dutch-language news and culture content in Brussels, on Wednesday launches its new brand name, Bruzz. FM Brussel, TV Brussel, Brussel Deze Week, Agenda and Brusselnieuws all fuse together under the new name. With the baseline 'You Are the City', Bruzz will focus on anyone who uses the city, from Brussels residents and commuters to tourists and expats, writes Brusselnieuws.

The media group will also take the opportunity to launch a new, more visual site in Dutch, French and English, but with a clear emphasis on Dutch. "Multilingualism is still important, but it is not an end in itself," says editor in chief Jeroen Roppe. "It is a means to bring the user closer to Dutch."

In addition to a strong focus on social media, Bruzz aims to keep its radio and television stations and initially its weekly newspaper and Uitmagazine, as well. Next year the two publications will merge into one renewed magazine with removable events calendar.

  • The Bulletin has a daily slot on Bruzz 98.8FM, weekdays at 18.50, and a Sunday lunchtime show from 12.00-13.00.
