Five thefts a day on Belgian trains

12:02 24/09/2012

The number of thefts on Belgian trains is on the up, according to figures released by Belgian railway operator SNCB. The company recorded nearly 2,000 thefts in 2011 (equivalent to five per day), a 20 percent increase on the previous year. The worst-affected lines are those linking Brussels to Antwerp and Brussels to Ostend, as well as the capital’s north-south axis linking Midi and Nord stations.
