Filter Jugs

Question

I am planning to invest on one of these filter jugs. Brita seems to be the common one. Carrefour also has some more economic versions. I plan to get a 3.4 L one. Are the filters monthly changed? Are you getting good quality water that way? Which ones are the best according to your experience? Do you order filters online cheaper than the ones in Vanden Borre-like stores?

Thanks for the information.

Jugs come with instructions on when to change the filter.
You get good quality water from most taps. Filters should make it taste better, but there's no accounting for taste.

Yea usually monthly or so many uses they can have an indicator to remind you. It's also possible to recycle the cartridges at some bio shops. We didn't find it made much difference to taste or calc deposits I'm afraid to say
