Filling nail holes in walls

Question

Hi ,

Can somebody advice how to fill in the gaps in the wall created by hammered in nails ?

How to fill in the paint loss done by the sticky holders on wall ?

I think removing the sticky holders and nails will be easy.  It is just the holes and slight scratches on the wall i am worried about.

I need to move out of my current apartment this month end.

Go and buy some polyfilla at Brico.  Something like this:

Using a wet finger, apply a small amount to the hole in the wall and then smooth out the plaster.  Leave it for about 5-10 mins to partly dry and then using a damp cloth carefully wipe away any smeared plaster around the hole.

For the "scratches" of stickyness left from an adhesive holder, try using some soapy water to remove it.  If that fails, get a small piece of sandpaper and VERY gently scrape it away.  In both cases, try to "clean" the smallest area possible, otherwise you'll be left with a large clean "smear" on the wall.

Having done both of the above, you may want to consider applying some paint to cover up the job.  If you can find the original paint that's clearly the best option. Make sure the area is clean of grease, dust or dirt.  Get a small cup or container.  Place a small amount of the paint in it, and then dilute with about 25% water.  Very carefully 'dab' paint over the area (try to make this as small an area as possible)  leave to dry completely and take a look at it.  If you still need to add colour, try another couple of coats of diluted paint, leaving to dry each time and checking.  You'll never get it back to it's original state, however you can probably get it very close, and if you're careful, no one will notice.
