Family Break-Up

Hello everyone,

My parnter and I seem to be heading towards a break-up. We are not married and have two young children. I've heard about the 2-1 week rule in Belgium (one partner keeps the children for 2 weeks then the other one for 1 week) and I was wondering whether that would apply to us as well. Would not being married make a difference? Would adultery be taken into account? I've also been told my partner is quite possibly taking drugs though I wouldn't be able to prove it at this point. If that's true I would be even more reluctant to leave the children in his care for extended periods of time. What would constitute as proof and how would you suggest I go about to find out the truth?
