Extra trains to the coast this week due to sunny forecast

20:26 22/08/2016

With the beautiful weather forecast for the rest of the week, Belgian rail company SNCB has announced it will run 24 additional trains to and from the coast from Tuesday through Friday. The trains will provide 16,636 additional seats for beach-bound passengers, says SNCB.

The warm, sunny weather prompted SNCB to run three extra trains to Blankenberge, at the Belgian coast. Two of the trains leave from Leuven, the third from Brussels North, and all follow the same route back in the evening.

SNCB routinely strengthens its coastal train schedule during the summer months, but this week's 24 extra trains will be needed to accommodate the expected rush. In addition to Blankenberge, there are also additional trains bound for the coastal towns of Ostend, Knokke and De Panne.

The complete schedule can be consulted on the website or via the free SNCB app.
