Evening markets are hot in Brussels

07:57 25/02/2016

In the past seven years, nine evening markets have popped up across Brussels, and four more are expected to open in the coming months, writes Brussel Deze Week. And the number will only continue to increase, according to regional trade agency Atrium, which speaks of “a typical metropolitan phenomenon. As our way of life changes, so, too, does our way of consuming."

Most of the evening markets launched in Brussels in recent years are entirely new. But in a few cases, such as the Marché des Chasseurs Ardennais in Schaerbeek and Saint-Gilles' Marché de la Place Van Meenen (pictured), long-standing afternoon markets have extended their hours to attract new customers with drinks and snacks. Four new evening markets are expected to launch soon in Etterbeek, Ixelles and Brussels City.
