Energy Performance Certificate

Question

Hello xpats,

We have changed the the windows and frames in our apartment with more modern and energy efficient ones.

I was wondering who I could contact to re-issue the energy certificate for the apartment. Is there a government body who I can contact who could come and reissue the certificate? Are there any incentives I get from the Brussels Capitale region (or anyone else) for being more environment friendly?

Many thanks for any advice.

When we had the windows changed - in Flanders - we got a grant of around €10.00 per m². From memory the people who did the job supplied the appropriate paperwork to make the claim - they were familiar with the system. All the details were on-line.
I would guess that the people who issued your original energy certificate would be the first place to enquire about an update and I'd be surprised if those details aren't available on-line as well.

Have a look at this website.

Brussels has a "prime" for replacing such things as windows and frames. Your window installer should have informed you about this so check with them. If it was a really good company they would have volunteered to make the application for you. If you installed new windows yourself you might not be eligible for the "prime" as the windows much be installed by an approved and licensed company.

Thank you all for your quick reply. The company who replaced the windows helped me all the paperwork to receive the cash incentive from the Brussels Capitale region.

I wanted to know if the energy performance of my apartment will now automatically improve (i.e moved to a better grade) or do I have to contact someone to send it an expert to do this?

Many thanks for any help!
