The four best alternative airports for business and holiday flights

If you can no longer face the scrum at Charleroi, or are left cold at the prospect of long queues at Zaventem, it’s time to check out one of the country’s regional airports. Whether you’re a business traveller or a holidaymaker, all offer plenty of space for you to park your car (at very reasonable rates), with minimal check-in times and several destinations around Europe. What’s more, they’re all only about 100km from Brussels. Here’s our low-down on the country’s top four alternative airports.

Antwerp Airport

Based in Deurne, Antwerp Airport is ideal for travellers going to the UK. CityJet is the only commercial airline that flies out of Antwerp (charter planes and air taxis are the other main operators), offering direct flights to London City Airport and Manchester.

Liège Airport

Liège is the third largest airport in Belgium after Brussels and Charleroi. It is an increasingly popular departure point for charter flights to Spain, Israel, Greece and North Africa. Albanian airline Belle Air also offers scheduled flights to Pristina and Tirana.
