Tribute show to Romania

The history of Romanian comic strips and the rich tapestry of contemporary production, from  are honoured in this exhibition, from inter-War golden age and the creation of the famous character Haplea by writer and politician Nicolae Batzaria, to the present. In between, the Stalinist regime banned comics from 1948 to1955. In order to practice their art, the country's cartoonists were restricted to creating children’s comics and adapting national classics . Until the arrival of democracy in 1989, artists were sustained by the few European publications that managed to penetrate the Iron Curtain. Since then the genre has flourished, encouraged by a new generation of authors.

A tiny market and a great walk.

There are two traders there regularly and you can buy eggs, chickens, dairy produce, bread and cakes from one of them. The other is Deliciously Different who sell English Cheese, Craft Beers, Curry sauces and other surprising things. There is also the 7km pictoresque Promenade des Murs to do. Nethen lies between Wavre and Leuven, near Hamme-Mille.
