Dunkin' Donuts coming to Belgium

12:00 23/04/2014

American donut and coffee chain Dunkin' Donuts is planning to open branches in Belgium, according to a press release from the chain, which is looking for franchisees.

The chain - which has nearly 11,000 restaurants in 33 countries - wants to expand in Europe. There are currently branches in Germany, Spain and Bulgaria. Now Dunkin’ Donuts plans to open in Belgium’s major cities, starting with Brussels. The chain aims to open 20 to 25 Dunkin' Donuts branches across Belgium in the coming years.

Let's wish them a speedy return to where they came from. Belgium is not really waiting for this.

This is very upsetting. Belgium sets the bar high in the food department. We tend to eat well, maintain a healthy weight, and respect good eating habits. A US donut chain is not needed but will prey upon the young and those looking for something "different" -- note how many "brownies" and "cupcakes" are eaten despite very few Belgian mothers ever baking such things! Am really hoping Belgium does not become like a US strip mall where every shop repeats itself.

Are you all crazy??? What do you want to eat all your life while living in this village! Do you think that disgusting FRITUUR and Pita (the only thing you find in Belgium) is very healthy????
