Download photos from picasa

Have put some photos into an album on Picasa. Now want to upload individual photos onto a website but Picasa only gives me a link to the full album. Have tried to download the photos to a USB but again its only by album. Having persevered to figure out Picasa am I now a hostage of their logic for managing my photos? All I want to do is attach a couple of individual photos to display on a website. I don't want to put the link on the site - just immediately see the photos. Am also using a MAC for the first time which isn't helping me.
