domicile address

Question

Hello,

I am going away abroad for a few months.
I also need to rent out my apartment but keep my domicile address in Belgium. At the commune (in Bxl)however i have been told that I would not be able to keep my domicile address here if my place is rented (and is used as domiciled address by prospective tenants)
At another commune where my friends live)they said that there should be such thing as "long term absence" which would allow me to keep my domicile address
does anyone have any experience with this?
thank you in advance

I

There is a facility for Belgian nationals to keep a long term absence and they return there when they wish to renew their ID cards / passports, but they are not registered as living in Belgium and they therefore don't receive tax returns and have to pay communal taxes either.
