Dolphin show in Belgium disrupted by animal rights activists

14:24 18/04/2016

A dolphin show at Belgium's Boudewijn Seapark in Bruges on Sunday was disrupted by a group of protesters. During one of the performances, the demonstrators jumped into the show pool and held up banners while shouting that the park should be closed, writes looopings.nl.

All nine activists – five from the Netherlands and four from Spain – were arrested. According to the protestors, the dolphins in captivity are not handled properly. A spokesman for the park, however, says the criticism is unjustified: "We comply with all laws and regulations."

Boudewijn Seapark is owned by the Spanish group Aspro amusement parks.
