Do Diet Pills Really Works?

Question

Do anyone know any "Weight loss" tablets that really work? I don't want something to replace exercise and diet, I want something which will help me in addition.

No.

If diet pills really worked you would not need to ask.
You would be bombarded with adverts for them; every woman's magazine would be full of the good news and no-one would be promoting the latest 'XYZ diet' book.

I found the solution to my weight problem was not exercise but eating less. And in eating too I realized that oil was the biggest culprit at least for me. But the biggest find was eating less, eating only when hungry, eating fruits/nuts/lightly cooked vegetables and rarely, chicken and seafood. Red meat was out of the question. The food industry will never tell you this.

Some of them do work, but as you know, there is no free lunch. I took such pills 10 ago, they made me feel disgusted of the idea of eating whatever. For 2 months I lost 10 kg and was thrilled. Then they stopped them from sale as being very dangerous to the liver. I met a woman who had to have an abortion as she got pregnant when taking those pills and the fetus had problems.
Unfortunatelly, the pills either don't work or have terrible side effects.

I fully support the post of Crisscross. For me also, just watching the amount of fats I consume and decreasing slightly the portions made miracles to my weight and healthy look. And you don't have to starve, you just make sure that you avoid the fattier products of a group of foods.

My advice would be: do not take them!

I have an irregular heartbeat (unknown cause) and when it was being investigated by a team of cardiologists, they kept asking me if I take diet pills (which I don't and never have) as they are apparently (by artificially raising your metabolism) one of the common causes of heart rhythm irregularities.

For weight loss my doctor advises eating six very small meals a day, which consist of lots of veg and some fruit, a small amount of protein with every meal and an even smaller amount of carbs. Or have four larger meals and two snacks such as a handful of almonds or an apple. Thirty minutes brisk walking every day is also beneficial. But it has to be a permanent life change, not a temporary diet.

Forward panning is key! A good tip is to regularly make large batches of home made soup and freeze them in one-person size portions.

Good luck!

If they did work half the western world would take them, remember it's not your weight that's important, muscle weigh more than fat. It's how you feel that counts. There's no quick way to lose weight. Calorie control diets don't work because they make your body conserve foods as fat as it thinks you've hit famine, what you need is to raise your metabolism. Walk the staff don't take the lift. Fidget more all these things help. I'd suggest rather than worrying about weight get some upwards movement in your self esteem then you'll feel happy mo matter how much you weigh.

Please dont use them. It's a temporary solution for a long term process that you need to put in place. Reduce all the things that you know are not good for you. Aerated drinks (even the zero, diet kind), Alcohol and the treats that are full of sugar first. When you reach your first goal, treat yourself to something that you miss amongst these foods.
After 6 in the evening, your body doesnt really need starch, so a light meal like a soup or vegetables is enough. Unless you really are into building your body or intensive workouts.
Buy more green vegetables and double the number of fruits that you eat daily.
Organise your life with periodic meals prepared in advance or the day before. Dont look into your cupboard just when you start getting hungry.
Treat this schedule as a routine and not a punishment.
You will see the difference in a month. And you will be motivated to continue from there on.
Drink loads and loads of water.
