Dentist fee

My son is two years old, so far he has been seen dentist two times in two different cabinet, both times are charged 40 euro, mutuel refund 23 euro.

For what I understand children under 18 years old are free for annually dentist visit, is it the case?

I have no idea how I can know which cabinet is free for children check teeth.

You need to subscribe to the dossier medical global at your general practitioner. After that it will be refunded 100%.
Be careful though, dentists are not always "conventionné". Meaning they can charge whatever they want. And the excess fee is not reimbursed.

Ignore above answer
It is factually incorrect in relation to dental treatment. Dossier global medical concerns GPS only. Even with a dgm with a gp, you do not get full conventionne refund from GPS, but some mutuelle do make up last few euro for kids.

Go to a conventionne dentist. Mine is one and I be never paid for their dentistry.

PS very unusual for ,2 year olds to go to dentists unless teeth are already rotten. Unless a particular reason, 4 or 5 is a good time to start.

Hi I sorry totally disagree you should always get your child to see an dentist even very young ones to check for any health issues and get them used to visiting. Some dentists are pricey and you won't get a full refund I suggest you shop around also do you have separate dental insurance many mutelles offer these

Funny that because many dentists quite happily state don't come before 5 if nothing wrong.

Why do children have to go to a dentist to be used to it? Strange concept. Seriously do you think a child who is going to the dentist for the first time age 5 is deprived in some way compared to a child with perfect teeth who has gone under age of 5?

Whole western nations don't go before age 5 yet manage to go to dentists just fine

Unnecessary medical care, including this, routine blood tests for kids, visits to a paed for antibiotics for viruses, it s very cultural. When culture insists on unnecessary medicine. It s time for logic, reasoning, medical evidence of benefit to kick in, to leave the helicopter parents medical care elsewhere.
