Deep cleaning of tiled floors

Question

I have around 170m² of tiled flooring in my home.

It is cleaned by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and so on but I suspect that it hasn’t had a serious, heavy-duty, deep clean in many years – possibly even since the place was built 40+ years ago.

Does such a cleaning service exist here? I assume that professional equipment would be needed and what I’m asking about will be far beyond the scope of a normal cleaning lady.

Any suggestions are welcome – ideally based nearer Leuven than Brussels.

Why not buy a steam cleaner to do it?

Because of their nature, I doubt that tiles inside a house need "deep" cleaning. But there are various cleaning products in Brico and elsewhere for cleaning different types of tiles. That and a couple of string guys could do it. If your tiles are the type that can be ground down, stepwise polishing by pros can do a great job because it elaborates a new surface, but you'll have to move everything. I don't know of anything in between.

Carefully scrape the top layer off with an angle-grinder!

Seriously - tiles need nothing more than a dilute, gentle detergent. Too aggressive, and you wreck them.

Some tiled floors have a textured finish and than there is the grouting. I don't have your answer, but the idea that this could not be needed is nonsense.

We bought a steam cleaner some years ago and it does a great job, product such as: http://www.vandenborre.be/fr/aspirateur-nettoyage/nettoyeur-a-vapeur
We give the floor a monthly steam clean and it looks great

You need to remove the old wax first amonia is what they tended to use in the past but it's very nasty. Look for a good hg product that will do it patch test an area first once all old stuff is off refinish with a sea lent laborious but worth it. I also have a steam cleaner they are very good to quick mop, but less impressed with Karcher later models than with my older one, mine just out of guarantee and now valve sticking so excessive steaming and doesn't stop unless turned off,
