17:43 08/09/2016

Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama on Thursday morning arrived at the Université Saint-Louis in Brussels to address the 7th International Conference of Tibet Support Groups. His Holiness is the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people. He will remain in the capital through Sunday, 11 September, when he is scheduled to give a public talk on 'Individual Engagement and Global Responsibility' from Palais 12 at Brussels Expo.

The conference has drawn some 250 representatives from 50 countries to the Belgian capital this weekend to discuss the Tibetan cause, with a focus on four themes: the political situation in Tibet, human rights, the environment and the importance of a spirit of openness and reconciliation.

The spirit of openness and reconciliation is important more than ever nowadays. My favorite words by Dalai Lama are: "Our prime purpose in this life is to help others". And it's true.
