Question

Hi - failed CT on 16 year old car a week ago. Not worth repairing now. Received a CT certificate in red- stating that red cert was valid until dec 6. Then i see notice on cert stating that i can return to do th re - test any time - - - up to the 21 jan. So can i drive the car until the 21 1 ‘18 legally. If so why does temp cert state that cert is valid until dec 6. I phoned centre but the lady very dimissive and i got no proper answer - in the translation prob. Appreciate any insight to this thanks.

My guess is that your car must be certified by December 6th of every year. Since the car failed CT, you have until January 21st to re-test and pass. If you would have passed the test, the certificate would have been good until Dec 6, 2018, not Jan 21, 2019.

If the red certificate says interdit de circulation, you should not drive it at all, except to the test centre..whatever the dates on it say.

You can drive it until tomorrow. From then, you have until 21 jan where you can ONLY drive it to the test center.

You have tomorrow to either drive it to a garage or scrap it.
