Concierge signed for a parcel but I haven't received it

Question

What would you advise I do? I have a cow of a concierge who, five days ago, signed for a parcel (I have the electronic receipt), which she hasn't given me yet. This morning I dropped a card in her mailbox asking for it and this evening returned to find the card (torn in two) in my own mailbox and no parcel at my door. I'm a renter. My charges pay for this woman's flat and wages. Should I involve my landlady? I should say that no deliveries have ever gone missing from outside my door.

Of course, speak to your landlady, speak to the syndic, knock on her door, threaten to file a complaint for theft! She signed, she had to give it to you. Did you give permission for the parcel to be given to someone else? If not, you can easily file a complaint with the delivery company too. Don't be nice, it is obviously not getting you your parcel...

Tell her there must have been a misunderstanding, and if the parcel can't be found, you will have to go to the police and report it. Next step = police.

Either you get the parcel, or she will lose her job and the accommodation that goes with it.

Threaten her with the police, she has stolen something of yours. Do involve your landlady as she has employed this person who by her actions looks to be untrustworthy. Hope you get this resolved soon.

Thank you for your answers and advice. It gave me some courage to tackle this aggressive, hostile and unpredictable person.

I went downstairs 5 mins ago and rang the bell. She didn't come to the outer hall so I waved the torn card at her through the glass partition. Her body language read: "oh no, this ***** nuisance...". She came out WITH MY PARCEL but instead of handing it to me, she plonked it down dramatically on the floor, mumbling something. I asked her to give me the set of keys she holds for my apartment and when she spoke in reply I suspected she was drunk/tipsy. She didn't come out with my keys so I left.

I fully intend to report this and two other upsetting/weird incidents to my landlady.

Thanks again xpats!

Ask your landlady to make a formal complaint to the Syndic as well. You can't do it as a tenant, but she can as an owner.
