Clean My Street app for Brussels coming soon

01:31 21/01/2016

Clean My Street, the successor to the popular app Fix My Street, will be available to Brussels residents in the second half of this year, says Fadila Laanan, state secretary in charge of public hygiene. The app allows Brussels residents to identify and report problems with cleanliness in the city, writes Brusselnieuws.

The Clean My Street app provides an easy way for locals to quickly notify the competent authorities of any problems with public cleanliness, such as trash or litter in the streets. The app is being developed after the success of Fix My Street, a similar app which allows Brussels residents to report potholes and other road or footpath damage.

The Brussels Regional Informatics Centre (BRIC) and Net Brussels are working together to develop the new app, which will have the same interface as Fix My Street.

"Locals can still report by phone or email, but soon via the new app, as well," says Laanan, who expects the app to be operational by the second half of 2016, following a few test runs this spring.
