City of Brussels prepares back-to-school mobility plan

11:11 27/08/2015

The new pedestrian zone in the centre of Brussels is about to be put to the test, as schools and normal work schedules resume next week. The City and the Region are therefore calling on everyone to avoid using the car. At the same time, Brussels police are warning that they will carry out more strict enforcement of the laws in the new pedestrian area. Cyclists riding faster than 6 km per hour, for example, will be fined, writes brusselnieuws.be.

Next week is the true test following the summer trial period of the circulation plan, which was launched in late June. In order to provide the public with real-time information on the mobility situation in the capital, the City of Brussels has announced that it will launch a new social media platform on 31 August, in collaboration with Brussels Mobility and the local police. Keep an eye on the Brussels Mobility Facebook page for updated information.

It will be marvellous to see idiot cyclists who feel it's fine to weave between pedestrian at high speed getting fines. Just wondering who is going to decide what speed they were doing and how?
