CD review: Triggerfinger - "Faders Up 2 - Live in Amsterdam"

Of course, their winning mug-and-teaspoon rendition of Lykki Li’s I Follow Rivers is on it. (At least on the bonus disc, aptly named The Road Sessions, because it features more titles recorded from on-the-road.)

However the main part of this release consists of a vigorous selection of original live material, recorded during three sold-out gigs at Amsterdam’s Melkweg last November. The bluesy howls of Ruben Block and his ultra-tight rhythm section, comprising Monsieur Paul and Mario Goossens’ trademark hard-hitting vintage sound, offer instant proof that hard work and honesty is still the best policy.
