CD review: dEUS - "Keep You Close"

14:23 21/10/2011

Commercially, dEUS might not be Belgium’s most popular rock group, but their sixth album was the most highly anticipated indigenous release of the year.

Keep You Close sounds more heartfelt than its predecessor Vantage Point, but also darker: in the intense, dense songs singer - and mainstay - Tom Barman bares his soul like he has never done before. The title track, an instant classic, immediately goes to the heart, but the other eight songs need more than one listen to reveal their beauty. But they will, eventually. Passionate, fierce and at times overwhelming: dEUS did it again.
