Car plunges down hole as road collapses in EU district

A road in Brussels' EU district collapsed on Saturday morning, swallowing a parked car and leaving a five-metre deep hole.
A water leak was to blame for the road surface giving way on Rue Stevin, a few hundred metres from the Berlaymont.
A Citroën C1 was damaged and had to be lifted out of the hole by a tow truck.
A police spokeswoman said the hole was about 10 metres long and four to five metres deep. No one was in the car at the time and there were no injuries.
Water firm Vivaqua spent the weekend securing the site. "Our team are trying to repair the street as quickly as possible," a Vivaqua spokeswoman said.

With all the taxes one would imagine they would tap the government for repair money for water pipes. Oh wait taxes paid where you live not work erm no wonder the roads in town are shocking
