Can i change my 1 year resident card to 5 year after my wife nationality ?

Hi i need guidance about my resident card i have 1 year resident at the which i got 2 months before and my wife have 5 year f card .now she get nationality and soon we will apply for passport .some one told me after your wife nationality i can also apply for 5 year card direct no need to wait . is that true if yes can some one please guide me what i need to do after my wife nationality .
