Buying online from media markt cheaper?

Question

Hello everyone.

I recently bought an appliance from the media mark store for 60 euros. Its been less than a week and I just happened to be on their site only to find out that the same product is available online for 25 euros. Is it normally true for all products? Expensive at store and cheaper on their own official website!
I wish I knew earlier. But just checking now for future.

Thanks

You can try to return the product to the store and buy it online.
If you are lucky they may accept your return, They may give you a voucher not the cash..

Yes, if it's been less than 14 days since you bought the appliance, you can return it to Media Markt. You need the receipt and the product has to be in its original packing and of course be unused. You will not get money back but you will get a voucher.

But whatever you do, don't try to exchange an article of clothing.

Yes, it seems to be that online things are cheaper and at the store the price is higher sometimes.

I noticed this last year when wanting to buy some computer speakers. I always check online first to compare prices so I saw a pair of computer speakers online for 25 euros. Got to Media Markt, they were 40 euros or so. I figured that the price would update at the register, but I had them check before buying them, and yea, price was 40 euros, not 25.

Then I asked the cashier that online the price was lower and she said, yes, to get that price you need to buy it online. Only in Belgium! :D

But better yet, once you have figured out what model you want, type that model on google and see if it comes up. We got a tv that was selling for 900 euros in Brussels and it was on sale for 650 in the Netherlands and it was shipped here (Brussels) next day free.

That's why I have the habit of doing research on a product on the internet and then checking out the prices online. If you're not doing that is because you got money to waste, as my colleague says. :D

Actually, having items cheaper online is not 'only in Belgium' . A year or so ago I looked up some tyre prices in the UK. The website allowed you to buy the tyres in advance and them have them fitted. I didn't do this and as a result paid more when I just turned up to the tyre place even though the tyres were in stock.

But as Raj says, shop around. I used to think just about everything was cheaper in the UK but there are good prices online from the Netherlands - I was looking for a beer dispenser with built-in cooler for keykegs and it was nearly 200€ cheaper than in the UK.

Generally I find Media Markt (and most Belgium shops) to ofent be overpriced. If you want to do some comparison shopping, check out Tweakers.net
http://tweakers.net/

It is a Dutch site that shows best prices and where to buy. Often shipping from NL is the same price as BE (or sometimes free) and you can see the online shops reputation as well before purchasing.

I've bought loads of stuff after finding best price here first.

I feel Media mart pricing are bit high comparatively. I generally shop online in http://www.berryme.pk/ they always have the best offers and new things updated all time.
