Busiest weekend in history for Brussels Airport

00:03 29/07/2016

Brussels Airport is expecting its busiest-ever weekend, with a record 253,000 passengers passing through the terminal over the next three days.

Friday will be the busiest day in the airport's history with an estimated 90,000 passengers - split evenly between arrivals and departures. It is the main weekend when July holidaymakers return home and August ones set off.

Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal and the south of France are among the most popular destinations. Non-European flights account for 13% of the total - and last-minute bookings have been strong this summer.

The airport recommends arriving two hours before your scheduled flight - three hours for transatlantic departures - but not any earlier.
