Brussels singer 'Blanche' to represent Belgium at Eurovision 2017

10:15 23/11/2016

The young Brussels singer Ellie Delvaux, stage name Blanche, was chosen by the French-speaking public broadcaster RTBF as the best candidate to represent Belgium at the 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest next year in Ukraine, writes Het Laatste Nieuws.

The 16-year-old Blanche will compete in Kiev in May 2017, using the same haunting voice that made an impression on audience and coaches during the fifth season of talent show The Voice Belgique, where she scored big with her version of Adele's “Daydreamer”.

Belgian music writer and producer Pierre Dumoulin will write Blanche's Eurovision song. He contacted her after he was moved by the frail and melancholic power of her voice.
