Brussels to publish list of official nurseries online

11:33 17/10/2016

The Brussels-Capital Region is working on a new website for parents to find out whether a local nursery is officially approved, writes Bruzz. The initiative comes after several illegal nurseries were discoverd in the capital since the beginning of the year.

The website will provide a list of all officially approved crèches, or nurseries in Brussels, with an aim to shut down the illegal childcare practices, writes La Dernière Heure.

"All nurseries must be officially registered with either Kind & Gezin (Child & Family) or its French-speaking counterpart ONE,” explains the region's development minister Céline Fremault. “The website will make it easier for parents to check whether a nursery is officially recognised and monitored, before enrolling their child."
