Brussels nominated for European Best Destination award

Brussels is in the running to win the title of Best European Destination, the seventh edition of the competition organised by a European organisation for the promotion of culture and tourism in Europe. Brussels is one of 20 destinations vying for a chance to win the coveted title, from Edinburgh to Nicosia. Bordeaux won the prize in 2015.

Visit Brussels launched the new hashtag #ShowYourLoveForBrussels for the occasion, to give the city a boost in the contest and to polish up its image, writes Brusselnieuws. It is not the first time that the online community uses a hashtag to show its support for Brussels, with trending topics in recent months including #brusselslockdown and #CallBrussels.

Users can vote for Brussels or another favourite European destination via the website.
