Brussels Muzieque presents violin, cello and piano trio concert on 21 December

21:25 11/12/2023
The Bulletin has pairs of tickets to give away for the concert at the Musical Instruments Museum in Brussels

It promises to be a festive occasion when Brussels Muzieque applauds the contribution of remarkable female composers and musicians in piano trio recitals on 21 December.

The concert in the beautiful Art Nouveau setting of the Musical Instruments Museum welcomes recent Queen Elisabeth Competition laureates, the sisters Sylvia Huang (violin) and Stephanie Huang (cello). They are accompanied by Lithuanian concert pianist Monika Dars.

On the programme for the trio, are the masterful compositions of Amy Beach, Mel Bonis and Cécile Chaminade. The history of classical music is full of exceptional composers, but this selected repertoire shines a light on the often underrepresented and unfairly overlooked achievements of women during the Romantic era.

These three gifted composers confronted unique challenges, yet their indelible marks on the musical landscape stand as testaments to their sheer talent and unwavering dedication.

Collaborative chamber music platform Brussels Muzieque is proud to celebrate their creative brilliance that transcends gender and speaks to the universality of musical expression.

Meanwhile, the performance of the three contemporary musicians reflects not only their artistic prowess but also the progress being made toward fostering a more inclusive and egalitarian music community.

Tickets are priced at €25, students €5.
