Brussels Muzieque presents Unorthodox Quartet concert on 5 March

Four Brussels-based musicians, all with Italian roots, perform a vibrant programme with an unusual combination of wind instruments and cello at two concerts in Brussels on 5 and 7 March. 

The Unorthodox Quartet will be playing the classical masterpieces at Le Baixu on 5 March and the Italian Cultural Centre on 7 March. The Brussels Muzieque ensemble will also be performing the programme at the prestigious Teatro La Fenice in Venice in June.

It includes the premiere of a special arrangement of Rossini's William Tell overture, created especially for the Unorthodox Quartet by Irish-Italian composer Paul Pellay. In addition, the chamber music ensemble performs Beethoven's first string quartet in F major and Mozart's Divertimento in D major, both expertly transcribed for this unorthodox ensemble.

The musicians are Matteo Del Monte and Antonio Capolupo, respectively solo flutist and solo clarinetist of Brussels' opera La Monnaie, Gordon Fantini, solo bassoonist of the Belgian National Orchestra, and Eduardo Tonietto, cellist and artistic director of Brussels Muzieque.
