11:53 30/03/2015

Brussels’ public transportation network is severely disrupted today as trade unions carry out a demonstration in Brussels and Flemish Brabant. In Brussels, only about half of the metros and trams are running normally, as many of the employees of transport company STIB take part in the regional rally, reports brusselnieuws.be.

Currently in Brussels, only about half of the metros and trams are running. The bus schedule is also less frequent, with updates provided throughout the day on the STIB website.

The unions are protesting against the federal government’s austerity measures. Starting from Place du Luxembourg this morning at 11.00, the rally is expected to last until around 13.00 this afternoon.
