Brussels Airport police requested better security last year

11:42 30/05/2016

In early December, 2015, the Brussels Airport police requested additional resources to amp up security measures in the departure hall. The chief of the airport police apparently "forgot" to transer the request to the airport management, reports L'Avenir.

The police officers who work at the airport expressed their concern about the lack of security measures at the entrance to the airport. The liberal police union VSOA specifically asked for automatic vestibule doors for passengers and infrared control for luggage.

The federal police would not comment on the information while waiting for the conclusion of the parliamentary inquiry.
