Broken stationery bike

Question

I bought a stationary bike at Decathlon and when I tried to put it together, I realized that one of the pedals did not fit where it had to. (problems to screw it in), so I can't use it as i only have one pedal working. The machine is brand new. I am unwilling to send everything back to the shop as I have to dissemble it again and take a taxi there (don't have a car) and it gets very expensive, so i was wondering if there is another way out. (Do you think Decathlon would have spare parts and simply give me another pedal or if there is another shop I can get one easily). Thanks for any help. I am quite useless when it comes to these things, so any help would be highly appreciated.

I would take photos and the two pieces that do not fit together back to the shop and ask their advice. If they say that you must bring the whole thing back you are no worse off than you are now. And have you not got a friend/colleague with a car? Even if you pay for their fuel it will be cheaper than a taxi.
