Belgium ‘needs structural reforms’

12:35 16/09/2013

Belgian Central Bank governor and European Central Bank governing council member Luc Coene said Belgium must make structural reforms in order to avoid falling behind its eurozone peers, writes the Wall Street Journal’s Frances Robinson. "All countries are going full speed ahead with structural reforms, except Belgium," he said in an interview published in the weekend edition of De Standaard. "If we don't make the necessary reforms, we risk falling behind." He also said the crisis in the euro zone isn't over yet and that reducing the debt levels built up will take years.
