On 22 March, 2017, one year after the terror attacks in Brussels, the federal government aims to unveil a monument in the capital to commemorate the victims. A competition for the project was launched recently, writes Het Laatste Nieuws.

The maximum budget for the entire project amounts to €100,000, and proposals must be received no later than 1 December, according to the public tender documents. A location for the memorial has yet to be determined.

The attacks at Brussels Airport and Maelbeek metro station cost 32 people their lives and left nearly 350 wounded.
