Belgians spent nearly €2 billion online in second quarter

Between April and June of this year, Belgians bought €1.97 million worth of products and services online, according to research commissioned by e-commerce association BeCommerce, reports Het Laatste Nieuws.
The results reveal that e-commerce in Belgium is a rapidly growing market, accounting for 14% of all spending. In the second quarter, 6.7 million Belgians bought at least one product or service online, or 72.6% of Belgians over the age of 15. Belgians spent an average of €103 per online purchase during the three-month period.
Plane tickets and accommodation remain the most frequently purchased goods online, followed by tickets to various attractions, events and holidays.
