Belgian state pension - paying in when living abroad

Question

Good morning, does anyone know if it is possible to continue paying into a Belgian state pension when living away from the country? This would apply to a Belgian national. I know in the case of the UK a British expat can continue paying into the state pension. In contact details of the relevant service to contact would be appreciated.
Thanks, P

My mutuelle offers consultations/advice on a regular basis in local branch offices on a wide range of topics including pensions.
If I was looking for the answer to your question, that is where I'd start though I've no idea whether all mutuelles offer this kind of service.

I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. To be sure though and to confirm how to proceed I would advise contacting the NPO (National Pensions Office).

There may be a case for contributing to a personal pension rather than the Belgian State Pension but this really depends on your personal situation and what you are looking to achieve.

I work for The Fry Group in Brussels if you are interested in discussing further my e-mail address is mark.ritchie@thefrygroupbe.com
